Merchinator is an application focused on merchandising and organizing products into categories and subcategories. The project allows its users to create various product variants and associate them with SKUs (Stock Keeping Units). These SKUs can then be listed on the main website of The Container Store, allowing customers to browse and purchase the different product options available.

  • Solution: Listed and documented all queries and conduct daily meetings to ensure clear communication and understanding of each query. Organized brainstorming sessions to explore all possible scenarios, mitigating potential impacts on the next day's development. This approach helped maintain clarity and productivity despite the time zone difference.

Slow page loading times (20-25 minutes) due to the DB server being located in a different location.

  • Solution: Identified and removed the unnecessary page calls, streamlining the development process only to display the specific page being worked on. As a result, the page load time has been dramatically reduced from 25 minutes to just 2-3 minutes. It boosts development efficiency and increases overall productivity by minimizing wait times and delays.
