The legacy application's tight coupling limited each component's scaling capacity.

  • Solution: We broke down the monolith into small containerized microservices and set them up on Kubernetes and be able to scale the services independently.

Transitioning to microservices created the need for reliable and secure inter-service communication.

  • Solution: An Istio service mesh was implemented to provide efficient routing, load balancing, and security for microservices communication.

Frequent errors and long delays came from the manual deployment of code updates.

  • Solution: Our Kubernetes team implemented a Jenkins and GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipeline to automate the deployment process and achieve a faster and error-free release.

It was fairly difficult to diagnose issues proactively due to the absence of monitoring and logging tools.

  • Solution: Our developers integrated Prometheus and Grafana for real-time monitoring, and the ELK stack provided robust logging capabilities to enhance issue resolution.
