Clinical Decision Support (CDS) Developer

Job Brief:

Bacancy Technology is seeking a Clinical Decision Support Developer to build systems that provide clinicians with evidence-based recommendations at the point of care. CDS systems are critical patient safety tools that reduce medical errors, improve guideline adherence, and support complex clinical decisions. You will develop CDS logic engines, integrate with EHR clinical workflows, and build knowledge management systems that translate clinical guidelines into computable rules.

Roles and Responsibility:

  • Design and implement clinical decision support logic engines that evaluate patient data against evidence-based rules and guidelines
  • Build CDS Hooks integrations that deliver context-aware recommendations within EHR clinical workflows (Epic, Cerner)
  • Develop clinical alerting systems for drug-drug interactions, allergy warnings, duplicate orders, and dosage range checking
  • Create knowledge management systems for authoring, testing, and maintaining clinical rules and guidelines
  • Implement Clinical Quality Language (CQL) rules for quality measurement and clinical pathway automation
  • Design user interfaces that present CDS recommendations to clinicians in a non- disruptive, actionable format (reducing alert fatigue)
  • Build analytics for CDS performance measurement including override rates, acceptance rates, and clinical impact metrics
  • Collaborate with clinical informaticists and physician champions to translate clinical evidence into computable CDS logic

Skill Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, or related field
  • 4+ years of healthcare software development experience, with at least 2 years focused on clinical decision support or clinical informatics
  • Experience with CDS Hooks, SMART on FHIR, and EHR integration for clinical workflow embedding
  • Knowledge of clinical guideline sources (UpToDate, DynaMed, clinical practice guidelines from specialty societies)
  • Experience with Clinical Quality Language (CQL) or similar clinical rule expression languages
  • Understanding of medical terminologies (SNOMED CT, ICD-10, RxNorm, LOINC) for clinical rule authoring
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with clinical teams and translating medical requirements into technical specifications
  • Experience with clinical testing and validation methodologies for patient safety-critical software

Nice to have

  • Clinical informatics background or experience working directly with clinical teams
  • Experience with alert fatigue mitigation strategies and CDS optimization
  • Knowledge of pharmacy informatics and medication safety systems
  • Experience with sepsis early warning, deterioration prediction, or similar clinical surveillance systems

Qualification: B.Tech/B.E/MCA


Office Timings: 10.00 AM to 7.00 PM
