FinBridge is a digital tax management platform that replaces spreadsheets and email chains with a single role-based platform for contractor tax management. Built around the UK’s Making Tax Digital requirements, it lets contractors, accountants, and companies track income and expenses, run approval workflows, and submit directly to HMRC, turning quarterly compliance from a scramble into a routine.
Role-based portal serving four distinct user types - Super Admin, Company Admin, Accountant, and Contractor
Direct OAuth 2.0 integration with HMRC APIs for secure obligation retrieval and quarterly tax submissions
Dual contractor models supporting company-managed contractors and independent self-service users
Built-in approval workflow ensuring every submission is reviewed before reaching HMRC
Income and expenses had to be managed through spreadsheets and emails, causing delays in the process and increasing risk of inaccuracies during reporting.
Meeting Making Tax Digital requirements involved secure API-based communication with HMRC for retrieving obligations and submitting quarterly updates while maintaining data security.
The client needed to support two very different contractor models inside one system: company-managed contractors with read-only access, and independent self-service users.
Every quarterly submission needed a clear review step so accountants could check a contractor's numbers before anything reached HMRC, but no existing tool enforced that approval workflow.
Our financial software development team built a centralized transactions module where every income and expense entry lives in one place, giving contractors and accountants a single source of truth instead of scattered spreadsheets.
We integrated directly with HMRC’s Making Tax Digital API using OAuth 2.0, so the platform securely reads business obligations and due dates and enables secure quarterly submissions through HMRC APIs after the required approvals.
Our team designed two distinct contractor journeys within the same platform: a read-only, accountant-managed flow for general contractors and a self-service flow with its own HMRC connection, tailored to each user.
As part of a broader financial services digital transformation, we built a structured approval workflow with clear statuses, draft, pending approval, approved, and submitted to HMRC, creating a transparent audit trail and ensuring accountants always review a submission first.
