Trovance is a loss-adjusting firm, and its adjusters spend the working day in email. Carriers send updates, brokers ask questions, insureds send photos, and almost every message points at a claim sitting in a separate portal. So the routine went like this: read the email, find the claim reference in the subject or body, switch to the portal, search for it, read the details, switch back, reply, and try to remember later how long it took. Multiply that by dozens of emails a day per adjuster and the switching cost more than the adjusting. Trovance wanted the claim brought to the adjuster right inside Outlook, so an email and everything attached to its claim could be handled in one place instead of two.

Adjusters lived in Outlook, but every claim lived in a separate portal, so each incoming email meant leaving the inbox, opening the portal, searching out the right claim, then heading back to write a reply, over and over right through the whole day.
The claim reference an adjuster needed sat inside the email itself, up in the subject line or somewhere in the body. Finding it meant reading, copying, and pasting it by hand, and every carrier tended to write those references in its own way of doing it.
An adjuster needs far more than claim status to reply well. Financials, contacts, tasks, and documents each sat behind a separate screen, so pulling together one full picture meant clicking through several different portal places for a single email.
Time logging and document handling always came dead last. Hours got reconstructed from memory much later, and attachments sat in email or personal folders rather than on the claim, so the record stayed rarely complete and almost never quite current.
With the help of our insurance IT services, the add-in reads each email the moment an adjuster opens it and picks the claim reference from the subject or body itself. It handles the different ways carriers write those references, so nobody types or pastes anything. The matching claim opens in a panel beside the message, already on the right claim.
With the claim on screen, the panel shows exactly what an adjuster needs to answer that email: the key claim details and financials together in a single clean view. There is no jumping between portal screens to piece a claim back together, and no second window sat open beside Outlook. What once took several clicks now sits right in front of them.
Contacts, stakeholders, and tasks all live inside that same side panel too. An adjuster can see who is attached to the claim, update those records, and create or track tasks without ever leaving the message they are working in. The claim system stays the record underneath, so any change made in the panel lands right back where the whole team sees it.
Time and documents get handled in the moment as well. Our .NET developers built the sync so an adjuster logs time against the claim from inside the email while the work is still fresh, never from memory later on. Attachments move both ways with one click, pulled from Box onto an email or pushed from an email straight into the claim’s Box storage.

1 claims portal dropped from the daily routine, since every claim now opens inside Outlook itself.
0 claim references get typed by hand now, as detection runs on each email the moment it is opened.
1 side panel now holds claim details, financials, contacts, tasks, and documents all in one place.
100% of claim work now happens inside Outlook, with no second portal window open beside the inbox.
2-way document sync moves files between email and Box, so the claim record always stays complete.
1 click logs time against the open claim, captured while the work happens rather than from memory.
